BIOSKETCH
Dr. Kerri-Lee Francois is a Clinical Virologist at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. She completed her MBChB and Master of Medicine in Virology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and is currently pursuing a PhD focused on HIV genetic variability and drug resistance among female sex workers. She has training in Genomics and Bioinformatics through a scholarship at the Wellcome Connecting Science Institute and completed the Global Virus Network Short Course in Translational Virology at the University of South Florida.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
HIV genetic variability, transfusion-transmitted infections, and oncogenic viruses. She is also passionate about improving access to virological diagnostic services in remote and underserved areas to better support vulnerable populations
